Terms of Service

The terms, in plain language.

Last updated: 2026-04-22 ยท Version 1.0

These terms govern your use of jacksbutter.ca and any purchase you make from us. By visiting the site or placing an order, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site or buy from us. We've tried to write them plainly.

1. Who we are

Jacks Butter is operated by The Better Products Company, a business based in Ontario, Canada. When these terms say "we," "us," or "our," we mean The Better Products Company When they say "you" or "your," we mean anyone who visits the site or places an order.

2. What we sell

We sell small-batch cultured butter, produced in Ontario and shipped direct-to-consumer through a drop model. Each drop is a time-limited release with finite quantities. When a drop is over, it's over.

3. Placing an order

When you place an order, you're making an offer to buy. Your order is confirmed only when we accept it and send a confirmation email. We may refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, for example if:

If we cancel an order, we'll refund any amount charged.

4. Pricing and payment

Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are added at checkout. Shipping costs are shown before you confirm. We accept payment via Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.

We try hard to display accurate prices. If a product is listed at a clearly incorrect price due to typo or system error, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund you before shipping.

5. Shipping and delivery

We ship from Ontario on weekdays (typically Monday through Wednesday) to preserve the cold chain. Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout. Once an order is shipped, delivery is handled by third-party carriers and subject to their conditions.

Shipping to Canadian addresses only, for now.

6. Arrival issues

If anything about your order isn't right when you open the box โ€” broken, melted beyond use, off in any way โ€” reach out directly to jack@jacksbutter.ca and we'll make it right. This is described on our Contact page and we mean it.

We don't offer returns for change of mind. Our product is perishable, made in small batches, and once a drop has shipped we can't restock it.

7. Your use of the site

When you visit our site or place an order, you agree not to:

8. Intellectual property

The Jacks Butter name, logo, the "JACKS BUTTER" wordmark, all site content, product photography, recipes, and brand assets are our property or licensed to us. 9. User-submitted content

If you submit feedback, recipe suggestions, photos, reviews, or other content to us, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and share that content in connection with our business. You confirm that any content you submit is yours to share and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or relating to your use of the site or any product you purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product or order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, business interruption, or loss of data.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the site will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
